What is going on now?

pro·gres·sive
/prəˈɡresiv/
adjective
adjective: progressive

  1. happening or developing gradually or in stages; proceeding step by step.
  2. (of a group, person, or idea) favoring or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas.
  • favoring or promoting change or innovation.

So, I have decided to turn the page, so to speak, and create the news media site that I have always wanted to create. Why will it be progressive? Because the news needs to develop gradually, and explained step by step. Because change and innovation are what drives prosperity and equity. Because traditions that uplift and unite should be kept and institutions that harm and control should be taken down.
What does progressive mean to me? Politically it means innovative, forward-thinking and motivated to include as many citizens as possible.
When I think of the founding fathers, I see young people who were breaking norms, tearing down old systems, and finding innovative ways to form government. What they devised was a beautiful blueprint for a building that has to be continuously built, updated and improved.
The Constitution is that blueprint. A manual for a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
Progressive also means lifting the voices and stories of those who are the innovators, change makers and unity builders. I want to tell those stories.
That means I need your help, the readers. Tell me your stories. Let me know about the people doing things in your community. Tell me about what changes you want to see in our area and how you aim to make it happen.
Please check out the website and see if you have something to add! Put a date on the calendar, fill out our free press release form for your local event or call to action, or send tips on important news anywhere in the five county region that we call Central Texas.
