Hearne Police Investigate Shooting Incident

 On March 22, 2025, at approximately 11:00 PM, officers of the Hearne Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 800 block of Farm to Market Road 485. Upon arrival, a vehicle containing five individuals was discovered. Three occupants had suffered gunshot wounds and were subsequently transported to a regional hospital for medical treatment.

The Hearne Police Department has confirmed that an investigation is currently underway. An official statement was released indicating that, "Out of respect for the victims and to ensure the integrity of the investigation, the release of information will be limited."

Residents reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity of the intersection of Vaughn Lane and Farm to Market Road 485 at around 10:00 pm on social media sites. Within less than an hour after the first shots were reported on social media, the same residents reported Hearne Police barricading the area and working with local EMS to get the victims to the hospital for treatment.  The incident occurred near the fairgrounds, after the conclusion of the carnival and all fair activities.

The newspaper has reached out to Hearne Police Department for further information regarding this incident and has not received any further communications with the department. We will continue to follow this story and inform the public of any updates.
