Calvert’s Annual Hooves and Heels Color Run Hopes to Attract Youth Runners

by Laura Chesner | Central Texas Star

The Calvert Historical Foundation's annual color run 5K kicks off this October, and they hope to encourage youth runners to join them. The hooves and heels historic 5K is a lovely run or walk through the beautiful historic neighborhoods of Calvert. Not only is it a great time for runners of all ages and abilities, but it is a beautiful stroll through some of the most historic parts of Robertson County. If you’re not up to the full 5K run, try the shorter 3K run/stroll, that will still have you looking at some of the most historic and beautiful homes in the county.
The Calvert Historical Foundation is currently looking for sponsors for their annual 5K, and there are sponsorships at many levels. All sponsorships come with marketing on all the Color Run’s swag including t-shirts swag bags and all kinds of other goodies that each runner will get to take on with them. Let the runners know that you support your community and the beautiful historic Calvert by sponsoring the Hooves and Heels run today. Simply contact Sheri Crabtree or any of the other Calvert Historical Foundation members, and they'll be happy to sign you up for yourself or your business.
It is easy to sign up for the run itself through the website at www.runsignup.com and sign up for any of the runs, as an individual or as a group. The Calvert historical society was so encouraged by the youth runners last year that they've made it even easier for young people to join in the fun. They have a 10 and under Kid’s K that is for younger kids who want to run and keeps the kiddos interested and competitive. They are currently reaching out to youth running groups to see if they would like to participate. If you have a youth running group or participate in track in your town, Calvary Historical Foundation would love to encourage those youth runners to come and sign up.
Check out the Calvert Historical Foundation’s website at www.historiccalvert.org and there you can find out more information about the race, the organization, and more.
