Cowgirls Tavern to Feature Bri Bagwell This Saturday

The Cowgirls Tavern, on 508 Main in Calvert, has been doing its utmost to bring the best “Red Dirt” Texas Country music to their main stage, and this Saturday they are excited to host Bri Bagwell.
“Bri is easily the biggest name to hit Calvert in some decades. She is such a talent, and we are so proud to have her at Cowgirls Tavern,” expressed Cory Bruner - the Owner and proprietor of Cowgirls. Cory, and his wife Amanda, have been working hard to create a community hub for music, food and drinks and their lineup of artists continues to grow.
Bri Bagwell hails from New Mexico, but came to Texas as quick as she could. She’s been a Texan for over 20 years, since her early days as a student at UT Austin. Bagwell’s Texas sounds were honed as a young person - playing the clubs on Red River and Sixth Street - and after working in marketing for a short while, she decided that music was her true love and devoted herself to it fully. Nowadays, Bagwell is the reigning Female Vocalist of the Year and winner of Texas Female artist of the Decade, but she still considers herself a humble songwriter.
The Central Texas Star was excited to chat with Bri before her upcoming concert, and learn a few things about her and her music.
When asked what she wants to bring to the stage in Calvert, Bagwell explained that she likes to bring a variety of Texas covers, “from Merle to Selena” as well as plenty of her original songs. “I love ‘90s Country Music, and many of my original songs are influenced by those amazing musicians. Reba, Dolly and Selena were all big influences on me,” explained Bagwell.
Her truest love is songwriting. “I always write about my life and experiences, and I always wonder if anyone else will understand. I am always humbled by the fact that people always share the same experiences and that my songs touch people in some way.”
Bagwell may share some of the songs on her upcoming album titled, “20 years in Texas” in which Bri pays tribute to Texas Music. Her single, “Hello Highway” can be heard HERE and has been released before her Cowgirls appearance, and the western twang, combined with the quick beat, recalls the sounds of a long road trip through the Texas countryside.
Bagwell is becoming a country music legend in her own right and Cowgirls Tavern is lucky to bring such talent to their stage. “In a world of singles I am an album gal,” says Bagwell - who intends to bring her volume of music to the stage this Saturday. Drifted Harmony will be opening for Bri at 5:00 pm with Bri taking the stage at 8:00 pm
