City of Bryan Only Government Agency to Remain Open During Juneteenth Holiday

While Robertson and Brazos Counties are closed for the Juneteenth holiday, as well as all the cities and counties surrounding the area, the City of Bryan has decided to remain open during the Juneteenth holiday.
Hearne, Franklin, Calvert and Bremond city offices will be closed today for the holiday, as well as all county offices.
As Juneteenth enters its fourth year as an official Federal Holiday, most Texas offices have chosen to give their staff the day off. This year, the holiday falls at the end of the week and some offices have extended the holiday to two days, keeping their offices closed on Friday, or closing early on Wednesday the 18.
The City of Bryan gives no explanation on the website as to why it chose to keep their offices open during this special Texas holiday, and no one official was able to be reached for an official statement.
Bryan businesses and organizations started their celebration on Saturday, June 14 and there are many associated events happening this week and through the weekend all over the Central Texas area.
